What My Artwork Means

Hey cuties.

I was looking back at my blog and realized that I never explained the meaning of the artwork from my first post (I had a solo exhibition before I graduated college). Titles are in the captions. I'll keep this short and sweet because I don't want to put you to sleep.

The Facade, 2013
When I'm relaxed and don't have inhibitions,
I usually do something creative to express myself.
Occasionally the relaxation involves magical things,
Which I will leave you to wonder about.

The Soul, 2013
What my soul looks like on the inside.
Not perfect, but still beautiful and hopeful.

Wishes, 2013
If you spend too much time on the secular aspects of birthdays,
you'll miss the chance to grow and love yourself, and you'll end
up with a shitty experience. That's why the cake looks this way.

America, 2013
When you focus too much on how you look,
your delicate insides can rot away.
This happens a lot in America.

Contrary to Popular Belief, 2012
I got my heart really broken once.
And other shitty things happened too.
What I believed to be true, really wasn't.
I was devastated, but I lived.

Lost Your Marbles, 2013
Even if you think you're loosing your mind,
You can still do something beautiful.
I had a breakdown during my senior year in college,
But I was still able to finish my art portfolio and graduate.

Hope, 2013
Sometimes life looks very dark,
but there is still a chance to learn a lesson and grow.
That's what I did. This one's my favorite.

...Many thanks for reading.
Until Sunday!
